Hello users!

I should have enabled and loaded this module a while ago but as of February 1st it’s now active. It allows you to block specific users so you don’t continue to receive messages from them. On most clients (like Pidgin) you can just right click the user in question and click “Block”. With the wave of XMPP spam going around I felt it was absolutely necessary to have. Read more on it here.

I’d also like to mention that I’m continuously looking into ways to make XMPP.is more user friendly through Prosody modules. I haven’t had a lot of time recently but I’m working on it! If you have any suggestions feel free to contact me.

Hello users!

I’ve recently gotten reports that our server is being used for spam. If you get any spam from an @xmpp.is user please email abuse [AT] xmpp.is immediately with the entire message and username of the account. We have a zero tolerance policy for spam and it makes us very sad that people abuse our service for this purpose. Nevertheless we’ll still remain log free and privacy conscious 🙂

Instead of having updates posted to the Crypto World Twitter, I’ve decided it would be better if XMPP.is had it’s own separate Twitter account because of the growing amount of projects under Crypto World.

We’re now IPv6 ready! You can connect to the XMPP.is site and Prosody server even if you don’t have an IPv4 address.

I’ve also created a changelog that will list every major action I perform on the server, including security updates and scheduled downtimes.
